Bruckberger at the village fountain!

"Bruckberger" is the traditional authentic heuriger of days gone by.

"Heuriger" actually means the new wine, and the bush hanging over the entrance is traditionally the sign that the new wine is ready, and that the house or heuriger is open for drinking it. Our heuriger sells only the wine, white and red, from our one wineyards outside the village. As well as our open wine, we have an excellent choice of wines by the bottle.

You can eat with us too. Our house specialities are chicken and roast pork. We have chicken, roasted or breadcrumbed Chicken Maryland or as we call it, "backhendl". We serve too, crisp and cracklingy knuckles of roast pork or "stelze". We also have a wide selection of cold and warm dishes for lunch, for brunch (with a mid morning, reviving glass of clear, cool wine), and for diner.

Our kitchen can meet your special wishes, but we do appreciate advance notice of personal menu requests.

Our's is a family heuriger. We go back 300 years of cultivating and producing our own wine. We offer the hospitality of shaded gardens, quiet courtyards under the wines, and cosy cellars to sit and savour the real Gumpoldskirchner.

In Austria Gumpoldskirchner is known as "the King of wines" and with good reason. We are true to the old traditions of the wine house, and we are proud also to be carrying on the century old custom but now sadly fading of heuriger music and song, with our own local players.

Our wine houses are close together at Wiener Strasse 1, at the the village fountain.
